4-5 country-style herring fillets with onion Lisner
4 pickled cucumbers
2 white onions
100ml of passata
2 teaspoons of Dijon mustard
1 perviously grilled pepper
3 tablespoons of rapeseed oil
½ teaspoon of sweet paprika
½ teaspoon of brown sugar
freshly ground pepper to taste
Method of preparation
Cut the herring into strips about 2 cm wide.
Finely dice the tinned cucumbers and cut the onions into feathers.
Heat the oil in a frying pan, throw in the sliced onions and fry until softened.
Then add the passata, mustard, pre-diced grilled red peppers, sweet paprika powder, brown sugar and freshly ground pepper to the onions. Stir and simmer together for about 10 minutes. After this time, remove from the heat and let cool.
Add the pre-sliced pickled cucumbers to the cooled sauce.
Place the prepared vegetables on a serving platter. Top with the sliced herring.
Sprinkle freshly ground pepper on top and decorate with fresh parsley.
