  • 3–4 herring fillets a'la matjas Lisner
  • 100ml of cream 12%
  • 1 apple
  • 1 red onion
  • fresh dill/parsley
  • freshly ground pepper to taste

Method of preparation

Method of preparation

  1. Before preparing the recipe, soak the herring in cold water, preferably for about 2 hours. Change the water three times during this time, then rinse them thoroughly. If you prefer your herring to have a more salty taste, skip this point.
  2. Cut the herring into strips about 2-3 cm wide.
  3. Finely dice the apple and onion.
  4. Mix the herring with the cream, onion, apple and season to taste with freshly ground pepper.
  5. Decorate with fresh dill or parsley.
