Ingredients

  • 3–4 herring fillets a'la matjas Lisner
  • 2 potatoes cooked in their skins
  • 1 cooked medium-sized carrotsi
  • ⅓ of green peas tin
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • fresh dill
  • ground pepper to taste
  • mayonnaise

Method of preparation

Method of preparation

  1. Before preparing the recipe, soak the herring in cold water, preferably for about 2 hours. Change the water three times during this time, then rinse them thoroughly. If you prefer your herring to have a more salty taste, skip this point.
  2. Dice the herring, potatoes, carrots and hard-boiled egg into approx. 0.5-1 cm cubes or press through a salad press, then add the green peas and 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.
  3. Season the whole with pepper and garnish with fresh dill.
